- Shamrock Cleaners
A Tallahassee dry cleaner of twenty-five years with a fire and flood restoration arm, fur and leather work, and complimentary pickup and delivery. - Prism Specialties
A national specialty restoration franchise covering electronics, art, documents and textiles for insurance claims. They argue in their own words that a favourite stuffed animal can mean more to somebody than its monetary worth, and price by process and labour rather than per piece, which they say keeps the claim cheaper.
- Textile Restorations, trading as ReNew
An award-winning restoration plant for clothing and household fabrics damaged by fire, smoke, water or mould, working through insurers. Named American Drycleaner Magazine plant of the year in 1991 and rated the number one fabric restoration vendor by Contractor Connection in 2010 and 2014.
How this list was built
Every entry was read off the business's own public pages. 1 of the 9 looks untouched for years: a copyright several years old, a shop promising to reopen on a date that has passed, a page booked through a year that is over. We do not name which, because we have not asked any of them and being publicly guessed at is not something you should take from a stranger.
That rate depends on how you look. Businesses found by search alone are flagged at 38%; those found through trade lists and associations, 18%. Search rewards an old site with old links, so a list built only from search carries twice as many ghosts as one built from the trade itself.
