- Dr. Toni's Doll Repair & Restoration

- Blue Thimble
A custom sewing and alterations business in Charlottesville that repairs and duplicates stuffed animals alongside clothing, bridal, costume and soft furnishings. Duplicating is the unusual offer: they will make a second one, which is a different answer to a much-loved toy than repairing it.

- Calling All Dolls
A doll shop and doll hospital in Cobalt, Connecticut, open at weekends. It sells dolls, teddy bears and accessories, and lists repair and restoration as a service, though the page we read says nothing about what that covers or what it refuses.
- Lesley Ewing Nolan Fine Art
A doll restorer who writes up every job she does, in detail, with the reasoning. She sculpts missing porcelain in Apoxie two-part putty, then sands and airbrushes it; she built a whole new cloth body around a family's heirloom doll head; and she says plainly that gluing on a wig is far cheaper than re-rooting hair. Also takes mohair Steiff, which she warns is fragile enough that pulling a needle too hard puts a hole in it.
Colorado Springs
- Not Just Dolls
A doll shop and repair service in the Dallas Fort Worth area that also sells dolls and does appraisals. Their published price list is mostly doll work, but it includes reattaching bear limbs, replacing eyes on stuffed toys and cleaning toy clothes, and they quote from a photo emailed to them.

A clock repairer and a doll doctor working from one address in Marlboro, under the line Keeping the Memories. Two dying trades kept alive by the same sort of person, in the same shop.
- Angelic Creations Doll and Toy Hospital
A doll and teddy bear hospital west of Chicago, run by the same person for over forty years and now working from home. Everything starts with a paid examination, in person or by post, and most toys have to be cleaned before any repair begins. It takes stuffed animals as readily as dolls, and accepts donated toys for parts.
Naperville
- Randy's Toy Shop
Thirty years and twenty thousand toys, in an 1890s building in downtown Noblesville. Tin, celluloid, composition and pressed steel, custom parts fabricated for almost anything, and the mechanisms repaired: wind-up and battery-operated both. They also invented the cardboard box repair business. This is where the toys every plush specialist refuses actually go.

- Shamrock Cleaners
A Tallahassee dry cleaner of twenty-five years with a fire and flood restoration arm, fur and leather work, and complimentary pickup and delivery. How this list was built
Every entry was read off the business's own public pages. 1 of the 32 look untouched for years: a copyright several years old, a shop promising to reopen on a date that has passed, a page booked through a year that is over. We do not name which, because we have not asked any of them and being publicly guessed at is not something you should take from a stranger.
That rate depends on how you look. Businesses found by search alone are flagged at 38%; those found through trade lists and associations, 18%. Search rewards an old site with old links, so a list built only from search carries twice as many ghosts as one built from the trade itself.
