Everything starts with a paid examination, in person or by post, and most toys have to be cleaned before any repair begins. Everywhere, including Illinois

6 of these are national rather than local: a chain with a shop near most people, a restoration franchise dispatched to wherever the damage is, a manufacturer's own service. They are as available in Illinois as anywhere else.

The Doll Doctors Association lists a member in Illinois

We are not going to reprint their phone numbers here. Those were published by the association, about them, and passing them on second hand from a site they have never heard of is not ours to do. Their own locator is the list those people agreed to be on, and it is the one that gets kept up to date.

  • The Attic Couturier

    Deerfield · has a website

Their locator, with the contact details Read their guidance before you send anything. They say plainly: do not ship until the hospital has agreed to take it, and insure it for its replacement value both ways.

Or post it to one of these

23 businesses anywhere in the country say they take work by post. Before you send anything: of the 194 we have read, 2 say anything about insuring your item while it is with them. Insure the parcel yourself, both ways.
